The traditional archery team of the Association of Historical Studies KORYVANTES, represented for the 3rd time in a row in the International Traditional Archery Festival which was held from 24 to 26 July 2015 in the  Gumushacikoy town, in Amasya Province of Turkey, in the slopes of Mountain Canik, under the auspices of the Turkish Traditional Archery Federation.

The festival was adorned with the participation of 10 international teams, and 25 Turkish teams from Istanbul, Adrianople, Konya, Samsun, Merzifon, Trabzon, Amasya, Tokat, Izmir, Bursa, Sivas, etc.

In an event that gathered the attention of the Global Community of Traditional Archery our archers managed to distinguished themselves:

  • Mrs Elena Antoniadou won the Bronze medal and the 3rd place in women category.
  • Team "Koryvantes" as the Greek National Team of the Games finished 4th among 10 countries giving barrage game with Hungary for the 3rd place.
  • Mr Taxiarchis Chassalevris finished 18th in the category of men among 280 Athletes

Our records derived from a world-class contest with participations of hundreds of archers  and countries with great history in Traditional Archery. Those big records come to accompany a series of records of the last years, as a result of the proper and intensive training work.

Our participation was also an important opportunity for us to reaffirm the strong bonds of friendship with friends from the global community of traditional archery.

Our Association would like to thank the members of our Mission-team and especially to the coach and director of our team Mr Taxiarchis Chassalevris for the excellent preparation and representation.

Our Association would like to finally thank the event director Mr. Mustafa Acar for the noble hospitality and the kind support.

Our Association participated with great success in the relevant events of the year 2013 and 2014.
