The Historical Studies Association "KORYVANTES" is particularly pleased to announce it's successfull participation in the World Traditional Archery Academic Conference which was held in the city of Danyang South Korea, on October 6, 2014.
The World Traditional Archery Academic Conference, which is held under the auspices of the World Traditional Archery Federation (WTAF), represents the pinnacle in the field of promotion of the history and mechanics of archery. The conference hosted the participations of Academics, researchers, schollars and experts in Traditional Archery and was performed under the organisation of the World Traditional Archery Festival (October 3-8 2014).
The Association KORYVANTES and Greek Archery Tradition represented in the congress under two (2) studies of :
- Dr. Manousos Kambouris entitled "The arrow shooting of Ancient Greek practice and tactics" and
- Spyros Bakas entitled "An insight view of the shooting methods of the archers of the Ancient Greek World 1400 BC - 400 BC" .
The presentations of the two studies conducted by Dr. Manousos Kambouris, Professor of Biology at the University of Patras and member of the Association of Historical Studies KORYVANTES.
It was a special honor that the World traditional Archery Federation accepted two (2) studies of the Association KORYVANTES, which also stands as a testament of the Association KORYVANTES to promote effectively the Ancient Greek Archery Tradition to the highest echelons of the World Archery Community.
Meanwhile, the World Traditional Archery Festival once again attracted the interest of World Traditional Archery community, with the participation of more than 100 distinguished archers from Italy, USA, Turkey, China, Romania, Germany, England, Spain, Japan, Singapore, Slovakia, Mongolia, Turkmenistan, Hungary, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Brazil, etc., proving once again that it is the leading festival in World Traditional Archery events.
For our Association, was another highly valuable experience, which gave us the opportunity to meet old and new good friends in the large family of World Traditional Archery, filling us with even more responsibility for the continued representation of Greet Traditional Archery abroad.
