Greek Traditional Archery ,10th of March 2013, Athens

On Sunday 10th of March 2013 Members of  the Traditional Archery team of the Historical Studies Association KORYVANTES executed with great success a training session in Athens.

Our archers had the opportunity to shoot on close range targets, giving special attention on the "knee shooting" style technique as it is represented in various types in Ancient Greek Pottery. This way of Shooting was very common on Naval Battle conflicts as long as in flexible batlle tactics of the Ancient World.

Παραδοσιακή Τοξοβολία , 10 Μαρτίου 2013 ,Προπόνηση, Αθήνα

 Την Κυριακή 10 Μαρτίου 2013, ειχαμε για αλλη μια φορα την ιδιαιτερη χαρα να πραγματοποιήσουμε μια ακόμα επιτυχημένη προπόνηση μελών της Ομαδος Παραδοσιακής Τοξοβολίας του Συλλόγου Ιστορικών Μελετών ΚΟΡΥΒΑΝΤΕΣ στο χωρο προπονήσεων μας στο Πειραιά.

Οι τοξότες μας ειχανε την ευκαιρια να προπονηθουνε σε βολές κοντινών αποστασεων, δινοντας ιδιαιτερη εμφαση στις συγχρονισμένες τεχνικές βολών σε γονυπετή σταση, ακολουθώντας τα μοτιβα τρόπου μαχης τοξοτών που αποτυπώνονται σε αρχαία Ελληνικά Αγγεία. Ο Συγκεκριμένος τρόπος βολής ηταν συνηθισμένος τόσο σε ναυτικές επιχειρήσεις όσο και σε ευέλικτες μορφές πολέμου και τοξευτικής υποστήριξης.

Το ομαδικό πνευμα , το εξαιρετικό κλίμα στις προπονήσεις, αλλα και το εγγενες φυσικό ταλεντο  , εχουν οδηγησει σε μια εντυπωσιακή και κλιμακωτα αυξανωμενη αποδοση ορισμένων εκ των μελών μας η οποία αποτυπώνεται στο συγκεντρωτικό αποτέλεσμα των βολών που αποτυπώνονται στις φώτο.

On Sunday March 3  2013 Members of  the Traditional Archery team of the Historical Studies Association KORYVANTES executed with great success a training session in  Athens.

In our training place , in the area of Kaminia/Piraeus , our Archers had the opportunity to shoot in close range targets, while we had the pleasure to test some of our brand new Scythian Bows and arrows.

We were  also delighted to welcome new members in our archery team, who impressed us with their quick addaption and performance.

Παραδοσιακή Τοξοβολία 03/03/2013 , Προπόνηση , Αθήνα

Την Κυριακη 3 Μαρτίου 2013, πραγματοποιηθηκε με μεγαλη επιτυχία στην περιοχή της Αθηνας , αλλη μια προπόνηση μελών της Ομαδος Παραδοσιακής Τοξοβολίας του Συλλόγου Ιστορικών Μελετών ΚΟΡΥΒΑΝΤΕΣ.

Στον χωρο προπονήσεων μας στα Καμίνια Πειραια, ΚΟΡΥΒΑΝΤΕΣ τοξότες ειχαν την ευκαιρια να εξασκηθούνε σε βολες κοντινών αποστασεων , χρησιμοποιώντας  μερικα απο τα καινουργια μας σκυθικού τυπου τόξα και τα αρτι αφιχθέντα βελη μας. Παραλληλα ειχαμε  την χαρα να καλωσορισουμε νεα μέλη τα οποία εντυπωσίασαν τοσο με την αμεσότητα ενσωματωσης στο πνεύμα της ομαδος όσο και αποτελεσματικότητα της εκτελέσεως των διδασκομένων, αποδυκνύοντας με τον καλύτερο τρόπο την ευοίωνη και αυξανόμενη δυναμική της ομάδος μας.

Greek Traditional Archery in Lamia - Training Workshop on Sunday February 24 2013,

On Sunday 24 February 2013, the Traditional Archery team of the Historical Studies Association KORYVANTES executed with great success a training session in the area of Lamia .

"KORYVANTES" archers, from Thessaloniki, Chalkida, Lamia, Athens, gathered in the beautiful valley of Sperhios River, at the farm of our member Mr. Panagiotis Stamelos, in Mexiates village of Lamia, experiencing a great Archery Experience, which filled us with much optimism for the future and the potential of our team.

More than 25 members and friends of our Association participated in a training session that had it all. Introduction to the basics of Τtraditional Archery for beginners, test shots with our new bows, Shooting on midle Range distances for all the membrers, as well as longe range shots for the more advanced Archers.

We also had the pleasure to accept a call from Television Station the offered TV coverage of our training. With extensive footage and statements from our representatives we presented the activities of our Association in the traditional archery sector both in research as well as on the competition field. 

The interview was supported with the use of specialized microcameras, which were adjusted to specific points of the body, so as to take shots in first-person, giving the viewer an impressive visual and realistic perspective of the archer's movements. Shots from these special scenes will be soon become available in our Association's channel on YouTube.

We renewed our appointment for the near future for a meeting with our members and friends and from other places in Greece.
